From Never Enough To Already Enough

Ever get that feeling like you're falling short? It's a common struggle I've noticed with my clients and with humans in general. The constant game of comparison—looking at someone like Susie, thinking 'She's doing XYZ, and I should be this, and I shouldn't be that.' It really takes a toll.

Here’s a practice I find helpful: take a moment, grab a pen, and write yourself a letter. You’re used to taking care of everyone else, and it’s time for you to take a moment to appreciate who you are as a person. I know you could make a long list of what you DO, but I want you to take a moment to appreciate who you ARE. We all have this tendency to focus on what's lacking, rather than giving ourselves credit for who we already are.

For this New Year, with its resolutions and the pressure to transform, let's kick things off differently. How about starting with a bit of gratitude and self-appreciation? Make this a part of your routine for 2024.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
